How many hours a day should I wear my clear aligners?
Most clear aligner plans ask for 20 to 22 hours a day, which leaves roughly two hours for meals, drinks and brushing. TrayHabit defaults to a 22-hour goal and a 2-hour out-time budget, and both are adjustable to whatever your orthodontist prescribed.
Does TrayHabit work with Invisalign and other aligner brands?
Yes. TrayHabit tracks wear time for trays from any provider or clinic, including Invisalign, ClearCorrect, Spark, SureSmile, Byte, Candid and Angel Aligner, as well as removable retainers. It is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any aligner manufacturer.
Is TrayHabit free?
Yes. The timer, daily goal, calendar, insights, streaks and achievements are free with no account. TrayHabit Pro is optional and unlocks Live Activities, multiple trays at once, advanced reminder scheduling and CSV export.
Do I need an account to use TrayHabit?
No. There is no sign-up, no email and no password. Your wear history is stored on your iPhone, and optional sync goes through your own private iCloud account rather than our servers.
What happens if I forget to start or stop the timer?
Any session can be edited or added by hand. Open a day in the calendar, drag the session dial to the right put-in and took-out times, or add a session manually. Sessions that cross midnight are split automatically, so every day stays accurate.
Which iPhones does TrayHabit support?
TrayHabit requires iOS 26 or later and is built entirely with the latest iOS design system, including Liquid Glass surfaces, Live Activities and Dynamic Island timers.
Can I export my aligner wear history?
Yes. TrayHabit Pro exports every completed session, adjustment and day note as a single CSV file that you can share with your orthodontist or keep as a backup.
Is TrayHabit medical advice?
No. TrayHabit is a tracking tool, not a medical device, and nothing in the app or on this site is medical advice. Follow the wear schedule your orthodontist or dentist gave you, and talk to them about any concerns with your treatment.
